20th Century Fox re-release half sheet (22x28) from the well-loved wartime musical ORCHESTRA WIVES starring George Montgomery, Ann Rutherford, Lynn Bari, Cesar Romero, Carole Landis and featuring the great Glenn Miller and His Orchestra. Because of this movie we are able to have first class footage of the most famous and prolific of the U.S. Big Bands of the World War II period. There can be no doubt that the Glenn Miller Orchestra were The Beatles of their generation, defining in the large part the musical footprint of the wartime years. The movie is built around a show biz soap opera, with a serviceable cast and some great musical moments. The half sheet was never folded, is slightly soiled and since it was never folded is a great candidate for a general cleaning and then framing. The film was directed by Archie Mayo. This poster is a re-release poster for the film from 1954. The poster is rolled, but has some tears, which have been repaired with archival tissue and is a bit smudgy.
