Original MGM Three Sheet Poster (41x81) for the John Ford classic western, 3 GODFATHERS (1948) starring John Wayne, Pedro Armendariz, Harry Carey Jr., and Ward Bond. This is a tale of three men (Wayne, Armendariz,and Carey Jr.) who rob a bank and are trying to avoid the local Marshall and his posse. In the wilderness, they find a woman who has just given birth. She is dying and pleads with the men to take care of her child. The "three godfathers" decide to do their best by the new born and set off across the desert. This film was a remake of the silent film THE THREE GODFATHERS (1916), which starred Ford's long-time friend Harry Carey. After Carey died in 1947, Ford decided to remake the story in Technicolor and dedicate it to his memory. Also Carey's son, Harry Jr., plays one of the three godfathers. This beautiful, linen-backed three sheet poster with great artwork by Tomaso is in very fine condition.
